Our zen garden includes all elements: sand, nature and water. The waterfall works with an Archimedes' screw: the srew is hidden inside the tiny rocky hill. By turning the handle it pumps up the water from the pool built into the base of the garden and the water falls out from the pipe like a spring. Then it flows through the lake back down to the water pool.
You can make your zen garden more personal if you fill it up with sand from your favourite seaside. Take the rake and feel the flow while making patterns.
Assembly is shown in the video.
(We are two first grade high school students, this is our first project and currently we only have Tinkercad, but our school will soon have Fusion 360 and then we will be able to finetune our model so it can work smoothly.)
