What are dice positives?
For my own storage solution with gridfinity [https://www.printables.com/model/658134-polyhedral-dice-storage-parametric-gridfinity] I needed to make the indents where the dice would sit. To make these as snug as possible, I designed these parametric positives that I then could subtract from the form. (Important: These are not just polyhedral dice, they are in a top and bottom half and designed in a way that the dice could be dropped in straight from above.)
How to use them?
All dice positives have a joint center in the middle, which can be constraint to a joint center from the storage box you want to build. Then with a boolean, subtract the positives from the storage box, and you have a nice little space for your dice.
Change the dice size?
The models are parametric. In fusion 360 under modify>change Parameters, these can be changed.
How to measure your dice?
That the Dice fit, you have to include a tolerance to the measurement, especially because of the rounded tips the dice measure too small.
My recommendation:
| Face to Face Distance | + 1 mm |
| Tip to Face Distance | + 3 mm |
| Tip to Tip Distance | + 5 mm |
D4 Tip to Face Distance

D6 Face to Face Distance

D8 Face to Face Distance

D10/D100
Tip to Tip long (is sometimes equal to the short measurement or even smaller, it's the measurement between the two tips with five edges coming off it)

Tip to Tip short (is sometimes equal to the long measurement or even bigger, it's the measurement between the two tips with three edges coming off it)

D12 Face to Face Distance

D20 Face to Face Distance

Updates
07.02.25: D12_v2 because in the second sketch the pentagon would not stay a regular pentagon after a change in the parameter. This is now fixed.
