This is the design to let you mount the Biqu Micro Probe on your X Max 3

This design is based on the work of SmileyMan3D, which he did a guide on thingiverse.

First, you'd need to adjust the wiring on your micro Probe. You need to swap the Black and Red of the 3pin plug on the microprobe over.

Second, if you want something fancy, you can reconnect the wiring using JST XHP headers (XHP-2 and XHP-3)

Tool-head Board probe wiring is.

2pin Socket:

  • Left = Ground (Black of 2pin plug)
  • Right = Sensor (White of 2pin plug)

3pin Socket:

  • Left = 5v (Red of 3pin plug)
  • Middle = Ground (Black of 3pin plug)
  • Right = Servo (Yellow of 3pin plug)

The difference of this design vs SmileyMan3D's design is, you don't really have to adjust the homing sequence, nor changing your probe offset

So you go to your printer.cfg file, comment out the [probe] section

then add [include probe.cfg] in the beginning of your printer.cfg

Download probe.cfg from here, extract it for the config file and upload it to your system. Then you should be ready to go

Print instruction:

  • Orientation: print as shown in the photo. In that orientation, it will be super strong
  • Support: Paint on support to the overhand ledge
  • Material: ASA at least. In my prototype, I printed with PA12-CF on the XMax3
  • Infill/Perimeter: at least 50% infill, and 3-4 perimeters

Important: If your probe doesn't respond to anything, check the plugs. Mine didn't go in all the way so it's just standing there

If you think the model is useful, please feel free to donate to support future development work

Revision:

  • R1 – Initial release
  • R2 – Updated to make it stronger
  • R3 - Adjusted the back so it won't hit the linear rod
