This drinking straw holder is attached to one of the dishwasher metal rods holding the plates and can grip up to 4 straws simultaneously. Compared to other straw holders I found on the internet, it has the advantage of not covering the ends of the straws to achieve better cleaning results.
All .stl files provided are for dishwashers with metal rods of diameter 3.5mm for 1 up to 4 straws of thickness 8mm or 10mm. This model can be adapted using the parametric .scad file to almost any type of straw and dishwasher using the free software OpenSCAD.
I printed it using dishwasher safe polypropylene (PP), it might also be possible to achieve satisfying results with PETG.
Print settings for PP:
I printed it without supports using polypropylene (PP) on a satin sheet using the default 0.15mm layer height profile with the following modifications:
- 100% infill
- 4 layer raft
- Brim of default size.
The model printed in PP sticks strongly to the raft, it needed some sanding to get a smooth bottom surface. Cleaner results should be achievable by printing on a smooth sheet with PP tape on top of it as suggested in https://help.prusa3d.com/article/polypropylene-pp_167126
