Wanting to use 3mm filament for my Toolchanger the only way is to find a way to mount a groove mount hotend.
Designed this Hotend Bracket that can hold a standard groove mount (12mm dia, 6mm height). All screws are M3, with the main holes for mounting to the Tool plate and fixing the hotend being designed for M3 x4 brass threaded inserts (4.2mm dia), while the two holes for holding the cable holder are to be thread cut directly in the plastic.
Tested for fit, printed in CF reinforced Nylon for stiffness and temperature resistance.
Fusion 360 files attached for modification.
Oct 7, 2019: Updated with new version with some tolerances and better printable locker.
Jan 9, 2021: I can confirm that the design works perfectly after having used it now for 20+h of printing. Also added a fitted PCF Duct (1mm shorter than Volcano PCF Duct) which has better clearance at the business end.
