When I bought my e91 it had no front console cigarette lighter which meant I had to use an after market accessory plugged into the armrest socket. The unit was then wedged between the console and the passenger seat. Less than ideal.
This plate fits in the ashtray hole and has a cut-out to accept an after market twin socket adapter which can be commonly found online or in value stores.
I desinged this in sketchup and have included the SKP file in case anyone would like to remix it.

I printed this upside down with a 2mm brim just to make sure that the plate gets good adhesion and that the top surface is as smooth as possible
Just remove the brim and spray matt black to match the inside of the ashtray compartment.
How I Designed This
I first cut out a cardboard pattern to make sure that I was acurately modelling the curved shape of the ashtray hole. I traced around the twin socket adapter with a sharpie and then drew a horizontal 4 cm line for scaling.
This was photographed and then imported into sketchup online as an image.
Edges were traced and then the line measured and rescaled to 4cm. Exported as an STL and printed.
