Keep your Schiit Audio Mjolnir 3 cool when you have a mere 3.75" of vertical space.  Note that this shroud is designed to allow you to use the XLR and RCA inputs, but not the outputs.  Hence you will be able to use your Mjolnir 3 as a headphone amp, but not a pre-amp.

With two 80mm fans, you can run them at lower speeds.  I use cheap 12V Artic F8 fans with a Noctua NA-RC7 low noise adapter which makes them effectively silent.  Even with relatively little air flow, I'm seeing 30F reduction in temperature as measured on my heat sinks.

Additional Parts

Requires some additional parts:

  1. 4x Feet to raise the Mjolnir
  2. 8x 4mm x 6mm heat set inserts
  3. 8x 4mm screws of appropriate length (see assembly for more details)
  4. 2x 80mm case fans like this are fine.
  5. Appropriate power supply for the fans like this.
  6. Optional fan speed reducers like this.

If you plan on using the RCA inputs, you will also need:

  1. 3x RCA 90 degree adapters

Instead of the 3 pin fans, you could also go with 4 pin/PWM fans and a speed controller if you're looking for more precise control of the fan speed.

Printing

  • Use whatever filament you like: ABS, PETG, PLA, etc
  • 3 shells + 3 top & bottom layers
  • 20% infill
  • No supports needed

Assembly

  1. Use a soldering iron to install the 8 heat set inserts
  2. Your 4mm screws threads should stick out approximately 4-5mm.  The screw head type and length depends on the depth of your fans and if you choose to use any kind of filter/guard on the fan.
  3. Screw the two fans into place
  4. Place the Mjolnir on top of the 4 feet to raise it up off the shelf.  The rubber feet of the Mjolnir can fit in the hole in the top of the feet.
  5. If using the RCA inputs, assemble the 90 degree adapters as shown in the photo and connect your RCA wires running along the back of the amp.
  6. Slide the fan shroud assembly over the rear of the amp, being sure to align the left wall between the XLR and RCA inputs.
  7. Plug in the fans and enjoy!
