I had to make thinner rosette's to clear our sliding door. It has also come in handy to replace missing trim blocks.

I had to make thinner rosette's to clear our sliding door. It has also come in handy to replace missing trim blocks. I would advise replacing both trim blocks to ensure they match.
I put glue on the back of the block and hold it in place with tape until dry.
