This is a quick-adjustable straight edge guide using a switchable magnet. Multiple magnets can be used, but 1 in the center is sufficient. The magnet can be fastened to the guide with M5 screws if needed.
6mm OD x 12 mm L pins may be used to chain these together for a longer reference edge.
The part will fit on a Bambu X1C.
Print Recommendations:
- No supports
- Use a high number of wall loops for increased strength
- Use ~35% infill for increased strength
I use this to align parts on a lasercutter, but it will work on any magnetic surface.
Instructions to use:
- Ensure the magnet is off
- Place the magnet(s) in the slot
- Place the guide on a honeycomb steel bed and adjust to the desired position
- Turn the magnet(s) on
- Push your part against the edge guide to locate it.
Additional Notes:
- These magnets are very strong
- Do not laser printed plastics or the magnet
- The outer dimensional tolerances for the magnet are poor; this design should fit without issue but MMC magnets may need some force to push in
