I designed this to be used for high powered rocketry for the new Runcam 6 camera. It has a 7.5 degree viewing angle offset from the body tube to help get a better shot of the surrounding area. The cover slides on/off to easily secure the camera and I've included air vents to ensure the camera has adequate airflow in the mount. You'll need to epoxy the mount to your rocket.
For best flight stability, mount the camera as close as possible to your rocket’s center of gravity (CG). Mounting far forward or aft can introduce additional aerodynamic forces and pitch/yaw moments that may affect stability. The builder is responsible for verifying stability and flight safety before and after installation.
Included are models for BT-70 (56.3mm OD), 3", 4", and 5.5" diameter body tubes as well as a flat bottom version, and the slide cover. The cover will work for all models. Depending on the filament you may or may not need supports. With PLA no supports are required, but with more temperamental filaments like ASA I would suggest supports. There is a small notch on the thin side of the mount that represents the centerline of the model for alignment.
Since this mount will be exposed to sunshine and strapped to a rocket I printed mine with ASA and 15% infill to be safe. This has held up perfectly for my fastest flight to date, mach 1.28.
Tolerances will be tight depending on printer model, filament type, etc. You'll likely have to work the cover back and forth into the mount's grooves a few times until it loosens up.
I've also included the model I made for the Runcam 6. It's nothing fancy, but the dimensions should be close to the real deal.
