This flange allows you to easily install the Switch from outside the aircraft in difficult to reach places.

I was having difficulty reaching the back of the Spektrum Power Safe Soft Switch to install the mounting nut. In the spot I wanted to install this switch I couldn't get it tight enough to keep it from vibrating loose.
By installing it to the flange I can tighten it properly (and use some blue Loctite) and then screw to the side of the fuselage. It mounts to the fuselage with (8) #2 screws.
This also works for any 16mm switch.
