When rounding wooden square stock you usually go from a square to an octagonal. Measuring this can be hard, especially when there is a taper in the wood, as in mast making for boats, or round tapered legs for furniture. This jig is helpful with making pencil marks to which you can plane the wood. It's derived from basis Pythagoras math. As you can see in the drawing, this scribe allows you to make sure al the sides of the octagonal are of the same dimension.
The scribe works op to 200mm wide, pencil holes are 8mm wide and easily adjusted in the STEP file.
