What?
This little receptacle can be mounted on the edge of a table top ~¾ inch (~19mm) thick. The top arms angle inwards to help funnel any trash bits into the bin. Originally made for my Tailormade sewing cabinet, so I could sweep my little piles of pulled threads and fabric scraps into it and throw them away later without having to have a trash bin on the floor and in the way of my big fat feet.
I realized I could mount it on my work desk as well, and is great for sweeping tiny plastic crumbs (or food crumbs, I won't lie) while cleaning supports off a print during postprocessing.
Made this because I could not find ANYTHING else like this.
Printing Info
I printed in PLA in the original orientation of the file. Whatever orientation you see fit should work. Even upside down might work if you have great bridging…
- Making the bottom of the top arms as smooth as possible to avoid scratching up your tabletop
- If printing in original orientation, make sure you have your support settings dialed in to make the supports easy to remove. You don't want super-rough surfaces that could scratch-up your table surface
Let me know if you want one for a different thickness of tabletop, I can add it.
