Another neat latch idea has come from the mind of Stanislav Atanasov. The full latch and locking arm are printed at once with supports. Check it out!

There's a new and much better thought out latch retainer made by hopefulyhuman. Please give it a try as my glue in spacer is cringe and unnoteworthy.

Added a glue in spacer to retain locking arm, last image showing use. Big thanks to AlterranGatekeeper for pointing out the problem and testing the spacer.

Design Philosophy

After a lot of people told me that the Irish handcuffs had an unsafe locking mechanism that would be difficult or impossible to open in the event of an emergency, I spent many nights thinking of how to make them safer.
