This is a model made from a photo of real chapel in Czech Republic. I was asked to model it and somehow attach it to a cork to make wine bottle stoppers symbolizing the village. I plan to buy tapered cork from aliexpress.

I came up with three methods:

 - First is to just print it and glue it on cork with glue - probably something like construction adhesive.

  • Pros: holds in one place, no mounting holes
  • Cons: messy, not as strong as using screws

- Second method is to screw a 4x16 screw to the cork and snap on chapel_screw. It has integrated spring elements to keep the chapel from sliding off the screw. That is because you cannot tighten the screw while the chapel is on top. With some printed templates you can screw the screw in the middle and in the right height of the cork for hundreds of pieces.

  • Pros: strong, easy
  • Cons: chapel rotates around its axis, cannot be tightened, visible hole in chapel

- Third method is to drill a 4 mm hole into the cork, print a dovetail_screw, screw it in the hole and using a dovetail, slide the chapel_dovetail into place.

  • Pros: no holes in chapel, can be tightened, chapel does not rotate
  • Cons: more prints, can be easily unscrewed, more work because of drilling

chapel_full is the chapel without mounting holes and with added cross on the top. The cross is really small so this model is intended for scaling up.

Printing:

  • material PLA
  • 3 perimeters
  • 15% infill
  • adaptive layer height 0,1 mm on the roof and top of the windows - rest 0,2 mm
  • with scale 100% you can print it without supports but overhang corners lift slightly up. Printing larger scale I would suggest using supports. The screw is printed without supports and ideally 100% infill
  • can be easily printed in two colours on basic 3D printer because of 1 colour change at layer height 28,4 mm
  • calculated price of materials is around 20E for 50 pcs including PLA, corks and mounting hardware
