.221 Fireball, Recessed Double Snap Latch Modular

Version 2 has these improved features:

• round cartridge holes
• recessed latch and hinges for protection and less snagging
• stronger hinge that is easier to assemble
• ramped front latch catch for smoother closing
• ramped latch fixture for easier assembly
• text for multicolor

The Snap Latch snaps into a locked state when it is pressed towards the box front and it passes over a retaining tab. To open the box, pull the latch past the retaining tab and lift the box's lid.

These ammo boxes are printed as separate parts that are printed in orientations chosen to maximize strength and then snapped together.

The box halves require moderate Lightning infill (10%-20%) and can be printed with no supports. Optionally, you can paint on supports under the flat sections on the latch brackets, and the latch catch. I printed the box halves with 0.2 layer height in PLA, the latch with 0.2 layer height in PETG, and the hinge parts with .12 layer height in PETG.
