(Attention: this is an old design that can definitely be improved on! Maybe I will update this someday, maybe I won't…)

These are stabilising feet for the ever popular Ikea ‘Lerturm’ hack, as outlined here (in German): https://babyled-weaning.de/ratgeber/lernturm-selber-bauen-ikea-hack-aus-zwei-hockern/

The idea is that the feet increase the stability of the Lernturm by moving the tipping point further outwards from the legs, thereby reducing the chances of the structure tipping over (which would be bad, considering that it is design for children to stand in). I guess they work, as my kids never managed to tip our Lernturm over :)

I suggest the following:

  • Use a filament with some flexibility; I used PETG with success. Do not use PLA, it is too brittle and not mechanically strong enough for this application!
  • 3 perimeters, 5 top/bottom solid layers
  • I printed with 0.2mm layer height, but a bigger layer height shouldn't be an issue. The tolerances on the legs of the bottom hocker aren't crazy tight.
  • 20% infill or more.

If I get pestered enough, I'll update the model to bring it out of the dark ages - there are a lot of improvements to be had here!
