Bernina at one time made a plastic adaptor to silence the rattle of modern 6mm spools On the thinner spool pin. They are no longer available from dealers, made a simple model to replicate. Original Bernina part was 31906803.
Newer version of the Bernina spool pin adaptor for 6mm cores, this one does not have as much play as it is tapered on the ID. The Bernina 1000 series spool pins are tapered with a spring for storage.
I had gotten some Mettler and Aman thread spools with the larger 10mm core. The Bernina 1000 series spool pins are tapered, This model will fit on either way and works great with the 10mm core spools.
