I needed something to hold, on my new sewing machine, the cone threads I often use.
With my old machines it's easy, with their good old vertical spool pins,
But nowadays they all have horizontal ones, and cones don't feet that well, even with the adapters that came with my machine.

In here I came across two models that may had solved my problem:
https://www.printables.com/model/278274-thread-spool-pin-adapter
https://www.printables.com/model/815255-thread-cone-adaptor
But I didn't really liked either of them, so I made one myself, taking a bit of both of the above models in mine.

I don't like support, so I made this a two parts print,

you just screw on the feet on the main part, you can add a drop of CA glue if you like, but it's already tight and strong enough without it.

It fits quite good the two types of cones I have at home.

It sets on the bobbin winder of the sewing machine,

I designed it around my Bernette B38 but I'm quite sure this will fit a lot of other models, if not all.
The feet is wide enough so it prevents the machine to go on bobbin winder mode, and is not too tall so the cone is not too high too.

But I noticed that while the thread unwinds, it regularly rubs on the plastic around the first thread guide, when it goes through the top of the cone. Maybe it's an issue, we'll see.

And this also fits on the vertical spool pins of older machines, even if it's useless in my opinion.

Print guide:

You can print it with 100%infill, it only used around 50g of PLA for me.
There is no need for support.
But using a brim is a good idea.

Apart from screwing on the feet on the main part, there is no post processing.
