Sorting Tray (Hidden Magnets!)

What makes it special

I built this tray for the small parts that always seemed to disappear on my desk. It is a functional design built on everyday 3D printing principles, and it works well for small nuts and bolts so you do not lose them.

Hidden magnets

The magnets are hidden near the bottom of the base of the print. I uploaded two versions of the model. One version requires four total magnets, and the other requires eight. The eight-magnet version would help keep more inside the sorting tray.

Pause points

IMPORTANT: Here are the points at which you should pause the print. If you print the model with fou

magnets, pause the print at "4.60". If you print the one with 8 magnets, pause the print at "4.60". I used the 0.20 Quality setting, so that would affect which layer you pause the print at.

Print settings:

• Infill: 15%-30%

• Infill Type: Gyroid

• Supports: NO

• Filament: PLA, PETG, or ABS/ASA

Magnets

For the magnets, use 15x2 Millimeter Thin Magnets. You can also get them from Maker-Supply on Makerworld, and if you get them from Maker-Supply, get the set of CA018 magnets.
