I got tired of accidentally gluing magnets in backwards…

This is a quick and simple tool that you can use to insert magnets into your projects and help ensure you are adding the magnets in the correct orientation.

  • Use the ‘A’ tool to pick up and insert a magnet into the first side of your project.
  • Place the ‘A’ tool outside of your reach (I have also accidentally used the wrong tool)
  • Use the ‘B’ tool to pick up and insert a magnet into the second side of your project.
  • Now both sides of your project will magnetically attract correctly

Uses 3mm x 3mm cylinder magnets.  Here are a couple of sources:

ASSEMBLY:

  • Drop one 3mm x 3mm magnet into the first tool body (The direction does not matter for the first tool)
  • Insert the ‘A’ pin and hold in place with a drop of glue
  • Drop one 3mm x 3mm magnet into the second tool body.  IMPORTANT! This must be added in the opposite direction as the first tool!  You can use the completed ‘A’ tool to determine the correct orientation.  Place the two tools together end to end; if they attract then the magnet has been inserted correctly
  • Insert the ‘B’ pin and hold in place with a drop of glue
  • Add a piece of tape to the end of the tools to help with glue residue cleanup
