Turn your cardboard filament spools into AMS-compatible spools! This simple adapter ring lets you keep using spools that would otherwise be too small in diameter for your multi-material system, instead of throwing them away.
What it does
This adapter is designed for cardboard spools with an external diameter of 190mm. It adds +10mm to the spool's diameter, bringing it up to the size needed to sit correctly in an AMS or any other multi-material filament system.
How it works
The adapters press onto both sides of the spool and are held in place by friction alone — no glue or hardware required. If you want an extra-secure fit, a small dab of hot glue works great too.
Fit not quite right? Pick your tolerance
Every spool and every printer is slightly different, so this model comes in multiple tolerances:
Too tight / won't press on? Print a version with a larger tolerance: +0.5mm or +1mm.
Too loose / falls off? Print a version with a smaller tolerance: -0.5mm or -1mm.
Start with the standard size, and only move up or down in tolerance if needed.
Print settings & requirements
Print in any material you like — strength requirements are minimal.
Minimum bed size: 200 x 200mm. A Prusa Mini (or any printer with a smaller bed) will not fit this print.
