Inspired by a comment from @deadCXAP_2453033 on my previous helical fidget.
Convertible into a “fidget king” (ring?) or a fidget snake!
In addition to simply spinning the gears, this fidget can perform other unique tricks with certain ring gear configurations:
The First GIF: Flipping inside out - use all of the same direction of gear: either all clockwise or all counterclockwise.
The Second GIF: Flipping inside out + Folding in half - Place gears in the following order:
Double
Clockwise
Clockwise OR Double (aesthetics)
Clockwise
Double
Counter-Clockwise
Counter-Clockwise OR Double (aesthetics)
Counter-Clockwise
It will only fold in half when the double gears are in the corners (as show in gif)
Printing:
For a ring (2 gifs):
8x Mid Link
8x Gears (types described above)
8x Peg
For a snake (first image):
Any amount of Mid Links, gears, and pegs
1x End Link 1
1x End Link 2
For a flippy version of my original fidget (last image)
1x End Link 1
1x End Link 2
Print Settings:
The Mid Link requires supports.
Links and pegs do not require supports but all can benefit from at least a brim or supports for stability during printing.
Default settings otherwise.
Happy Fidgeting!
Also highly inspired by @jirka's remix of @AndrewDeml_310771's helical gear fidget.
