This is a very basic runoutsensor for your thumperblocks.

Up front you should only do this with a fresh build. otherwise you have to remove all your filamentblocks again and calibrate them again.

Apart from the original BOM you will also need:

  • d2f style switch without any lever
  • 6x3mm magnet
  • some filament

  • replace the original latch with this shorter one
  • one of the 2 filament paths (one long and one short meaning, the magnet is either inserted closer or further away from the extruder gears depending on what you like. the long version might work better with endless spool)

The upper fixing holes have a sacrificial bridging layer, just poke through it.

Take your printed part, insert the magnet into the slot where the microswitch sits, then the switch with the trigger part wherever the magnet is. secure the switch with some filament strands through the holes and only then you insert the original magnet into the Thumper otherwise you will have a hard time getting the magnet into place for the sensor.
