The original model worked but used in-place printed hinge pins that were prone to failure. This recreation has a 2mm slot into which you can insert a strong piece of wire (I used 1.8mm wire typically used for stringing electric fences).
The OpenSCAD model is provided so you can tweak the diameter of the hinge pin holes for different thicknesses of wire.
One end of the hinge is closed so that you can cut the wire to size less a mm or 2, insert it and then glue closed the open end. I'd suggest filling the open end with a small amount of bicarbonate of soda and superglue (cyanoacrylate) which will make a strong filler.
Printed on a Prusa i3 Mk4, 0.30mm Draft, 15% infill, Prusament Black PETG
The model has been update so that the hinge stops meet flush.
