I'm assembly a tool in the Stealth changer ecosystem, and i encountered an interference in the original mounting point that i solved with this offset standoffs.
You can use this in case your building a tool with:
- Orbiter v2
- Drangon burner v8 https://github.com/chirpy2605/voron/blob/main/V0/Dragon_Burner/README.md
- Stealth changer tool plate for Dragon burner v8 and optotap v2 with PCB https://github.com/DraftShift/StealthChanger/blob/main/STLs/Backplates/DragonBurner.stl
- I'm also using the WirerestrainBracket.stl given in the Orbitool github to umbilical mount the usb cable (in case you don't want to use this the stand off should be elongated by 4-5mm, just ask me) https://github.com/RobertLorincz/Orbiter-Toolboards/blob/main/Orbiter%20O2%20Toolboard/3D%20CAD/WirerestrainBracket.stl
- Orbiter smart sensor (in case you don't want to use this the stand off should be elongated by another 3.5mm, just ask me to generate the stl)
In this configuration the optotap pcb interfere with the orbitool board, so i created this two standoffs that offset the mounting point of the orbitool by 3mm, leaving the possibility to still connect the orbiter smart sensor with the original cable.
BOM:
- 2x M3x25mm SHCS/BHCS to replace the original orbiter motor mount screw (they give us this screws in the original LDO smart sensor, but i replaced with two black ones)
- 2x M3x6 SHCS/BHCS to mount the orbitool to the standoff
- 4x VORON heat inserts (M3x5x4), two for each standoff
Printing instruction:
- Print with standard voron profile, and since it will stay really near the motor I would suggest that you use at least ABS/ASA. Mine are made with Prusament ASA Black
Mounting instruction:
- Replace the motor screws with the longer ones, when the screw is about to come out from the back, place the offset and take it pressed then finish to mount the screw. See picture for offset orientation (chamfered part goes near the motor)(left and right are meant looking the extruder from behind)
- mount the orbitool to the standoffs with the smaller screw, i would suggest to put two washers.
