This case was designed for 6 person 3D Catan with Cities & Knights. Specifically Dakanzla's Magnetic 3D set. Please look at the reference section for a link to his Thingiverse pages. I have also added Marc and Plank92's Catan Trophies to the set as well as a few things on my own (see references).
The Player Container lids act as reference cards for prices and Victory Points (VPs). They also Hold the Flags. Because we play with 5-6 people most of the time and buying between turners gets hectic we use the flags to show that you want to buy. Players wait for all the flags to be down before rolling dice. We also printed the 2 Clicky Rotate Counters to keep track of Barbarians vs. Active Knights. (see references)
Player Reference Card abbreviations:
- L=Lumber
- B=Brick
- G=Grain
- W=Wool
- O=Ore
I printed this with ASA, a Ø0.4mm nozzle, and 0.2mm layers. But a larger nozzle and layer height would help with time. below are some things to consider when slicing and printing these.
Printing Tips:
- cb-corner: I printed these open face down, using 2 layer thick bunny hears on the corners. I also had a 5mm brim but that may have been overkill.
- cb-spring-pin/cb-pull-pin: the flexure section of these pins tends to lift. I used a Brim and they printed great. You could print all 15 pins as pull pins but I wanted it to be harder to fully disassemble the corners.
- cb-top-tray: I used 2 layer thick bunny hears on the corners. I also had a 5mm brim but that may have been overkill.
- cb-player-reference/cb-lid/: I did a stop/color change to make the words pop more.
