Magnetic Filament Splice Tool
This is my attempt to design and make a filament splicer that is reusable and magnetic. I have a lot of filament spools that are too short to use, so I decided to design a filament splicer that has magnets embedded within the print. This filament splicer is designed for 1.75mm 3d printing filament.
Printer Used:
Bambu Lab A1 Mini
Print setting:
Infill: 15%
Supports: No
Pause: Yes, at layer 23 (This is if you are embedding magnets)
Items used in this design:
Magnets: https://amzn.to/3WgGIcy (Allows the two halves clamp together)
Soldering Iron: https://amzn.to/3DTEp9i (Warm up the filament)
Filament: https://amzn.to/3C4fW0c (Used to print this product)
*This print involves your printer pausing for you to insert magnets. If the magnets you embed don't go down in all the way, it could damage your machine. I am not responsible for your 3d printed breaking. To ensure that you don't break your 3d printer, use the magnets that are linked above. This model is designed around magnets with theses dimensions. *
