I purchased a MIAOLINK RF enabled automatic vacuum switch (amazon) for woodworking.
I made this case for two reasons:
- The remote has 8 buttons, but only two of them are needed in my use-case. "ON", which turns the vacuum on and “AUTO”, which sets the vacuum to automatically turn on by tool usage.
- The remote has no way of being attached to my woodworking apron or pants, so I added a clip and a keyring hole.
The easiest/strongest way to print this is to use my 3MF file. If you can't use the 3MF, follow these tips.
- There's two versions to choose from
- ON_AUTO (only these two buttons are available)
- ALL_BUTTONS (has a cutout for all of the buttons to be accessible, I haven't printed this one myself)
- Slice the case into two pieces, one for the case and one for the clip
- The clip is oriented in its strongest direction on its side/touching the build plate and should have 5 walls / 50% infill for increased strength.
- The case doesn't need supports
- Use superglue/CA glue to connect the clip to the case
