I had to fit my printer into a very tight space. And because I wanted an easy solution to get to the side panels quickly, I tried to use drawer slides.

It works so well that I decided to publish it for anyone with a similar problem.

This might also be a good solution for a printfarm.

And as a little additional benefit, the printer is decoupled from bottom underneath. Making it quieter and don't produce vibrations.

I found the drawer slide at my local hardware store. It's dimensions:

  • Length: 400mm
  • Height: 45mm
  • Width: 12.5mm

The slide I got has a perfect fit to the Core One side panels. I only needed two M3x10 screws for each side and the printed distancer to mount it to the existing holes on the lower frame.

By the looks of it, this is the same product as this one: https://amzn.eu/d/3yPgAQp but i cant confirm this. If someone orders it, please let me know if it fits.

The Fusion file is also attached - in case you need to adjust the dimensions.

I printed the parts in PETG with four perimeter shells and rectilinear infill. For better strength, print the distancer part horizontally. I designed a tiny gap at the weakest point, forcing the slicer to add perimeter walls to strengthen the part even more.
