Intro
Having a flash contest is just a great way to improve your design thinking and it's a really nice idea from the Prusa team! I'll definitely have fun doing these contests!
Design
My design for this one is a small clothes buttons kit to have with you for that one and only time when you lose a button from your shirt.
But there is more… I did a 9 holes grid on each button so you can customize your buttons with letters or numbers or symbols of your choice. Isn't it cool?
In the kit, you'll have 10 buttons and one double hook where you can store a thread and needle.
I made two different kits:
- 2mm height buttons kit with an edge that you can 3dprint with different colors
- 1mm height buttons kit ton fit in your wallet for "that one time.."
I did the design and modeling yesterday but today after coming back home from work I found out that there is a similar idea in the contest and it's from Oxa which I'll link here
( https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/120923-button ).
I would definitely go and like that design too!
Print Settings
I always use PrusaSlicer settings as a start point and tweak some parameters based on the filament I use or characteristics I need from the final print.
For this one, I only change print speed by making it a bit faster.
No need for support on this print.
Additional material
You will need a needle and thread, that's it!
Here's a video where you can see how to detach a button from the plastic frame.
Happy printing and remember… “Life is a prototype”
