Carton spools add more friction when unwinding on a shaft holder so a spool hub was needed. It also deteriorates the carton and creates unwanted dust around a 3D printer. PETG on PETG glides better, so less friction.
I created two hub models as the carton spools which I have at hand come in several hub sizes.
- Inner diameter (ID) 55 mm.
- Inner diameter (ID) 54 mm.
So I created the following hubs directly in PrusaSlicer :
- Outer diameter (OD) 55 mm, inner diameter (ID) 47.1 mm, length 70 mm.
- Outer diameter (OD) 53.9 mm, inner diameter (ID) 47.1 mm, length 70 mm.
I added fuzzy skin on the outside perimeter so that the carton spool has a better grip on the PETG hub.
I added .3mf files and BGCODE files.
I printed the hubs with a MK4S with MMU3 and a MK3S+ printer.
Thes hubs can be used with the original Prusa spool holders for MK3S+, MK4S and the Enclosure.
