Adapters to hold a 50mm diameter capacitor in a 63mm strap and a 52mm diameter capacitor in a 65mm strap.
A recent repair of my HVAC system required replacement of the start and run capacitors. Although I bought replacements with the same electrical specifications (farads and volts) the physical size of the caps were smaller than what the existing mounting straps were designed to hold. I came up with these adapters to make for a solid fit.
Each has a 1.5mm lip around the entirety except for a notched out section to allow the adapter to rest square against the unit wall. The screw to attach the straps to the back wall was on the left in my unit so I designed these so the open section to allow clamping was closest to that side while the flat surface was at the back. If dealing with a unit that has the attachment screw on the right it might be best to mirror the model. If you have a clamp that comes around from both sides and tightens in the middle you'll probably want to remix this to have the flat spot and clamp opening on opposite sides.
I printed with ABS for longevity and 10% gyroid infill. I still haven't properly tweaked my set-up for ABS printing so as the printing progressed I did have some warping that lifted part of the model off the build plate. Enough adhesion remained for a near complete print (only lost the last couple layers) and a complete print each with minor warp and both were still fully usable. Designed in Blender.
