Bill of Materials
- A Raspberry Pi 3B+
- The official Raspberry Pi 3 7" touchscreen
- This keyboard/trackball combo
- A longer display cable, these worked for me
- 4 M3 x 12 screws
- 4 M2.5 x 8 screws
- Some removable velcro or something like that, I used this
- A small-ish battery pack, I used the Anker 321 Power Bank (Power Core 5K)
- An 18650 carrier thing like this should fit fine
- Two microUSB cables, one at least an inch long and one about 4 inches long unless you don't care about working out where the slack can go
Notes
The photos are of a slightly older, slightly customized version including the text.
Ignore the low-voltage warning, it's just being dramatic. If I were booted into just the terminal it wouldn't have any issues. Could also underclock it.
I printed the chassis in 4 quadrants and the cover in two halves on my Creality Sermoon V1. Larger printers shouldn't need to do quite that much, though.
This was made in TinkerCAD, and is rife for remixing. Please add more features I'm not good at CAD yet lol
TODO:
- I'd like to add a power switch, perhaps something like this?
- I'd like to make the GPIO pins more accessible, should be as simple as modifying the cover.
- Modifying the chassis to make the USB-C port accessible for charging
