UPDATE 2025/04/24

I no longer recommend this clamp. Instead, I've remixed a model by another user that has more universal compatibility. Please see here.

This spacer enables you to clamp your phone vertically with the BSP-D8, allowing you to play vertical scrollers, NDS and 3DS games in portrait orientation.

Specifications:
  • Supported width - 65-85mm (can go wider, but the bridge might slide off if not careful)
  • Maximum phone thickness - 18mm
  • Tested only with BSP-D8, might work with BSP-D9, unsure about other controllers
Print notes:
  • Tested with PLA
  • The bridge part is not required but HIGHLY recommended - it adds rigidity and stops the clamps(and the phone) from angling forward due to the clamping force and eventually popping off
  • For the clamps, pick between Type A or Type B ONLY
  • Supports needed?
    • Type A - Yes, will require supports regardless of orientation, but I've not tested this
    • Type B - No, it's been sliced to be printed vertically, but does need to be pressed fit together after printing
  • For Type B, note that the press fit parts have a tolerance gap of 0.4mm, but some manual filing might be required if your printer is not accurate
  • Recommend sticking some rubber/foam padding on the inner-wall for additional grip

I may or may not make an updated version that hooks the clamp to the bridge section of the controller, effectively eliminating the need to print the bridge altogether. It will essentially be a remix of this adapter by another user.
