Magnetic TrimUi Brick Hard Case

Created this case so i can chuck the console in my bag without worrying about scratches or it getting crushed.

Printing Instructions

  • .20mm Layer height
  • No Support, no brim(you might need it if you have problems with bed adhesion)
  • Print flat side down
  • For Multicolor prints, import top(with logo) as a object with multiple parts, apply color to the design and print as one piece.
  • I used PLA, but you might want to try PETG if you really plan on tossing this thing around, or if you ever plan on leaving it in a hot car.

Assembly Instructions

  1. Cut a length of filament to roughly the length of the case.
  2. place the top and bottom pieces of the case together
  3. feed the filament through the hinge(this might take some time and elbow grease depending on you printers tolerances, be patient and be careful)
  4. Cut the filament flush at the end of the hinges.
  5. Press 5x2.8mm Magnets into bottom and top parts of case (be very careful to get the polarity right)
  6. Cut 2mm craft foam to line the top and bottom of the case, use gluestick to adhere to the case NOT Superglue. the foam around the lower have of the console on the lid of the case is optional.
  7. You're Done!

TIP: if you are finding it difficult to insert filament hinge, pull it quickly through each hole individually a couple times, this will wear out the plastic and give you a bit more clearance.
