I added a larger motor for my y axis on my Ender 3 Pro, but it was so large that the bed contacted the motor before it hit the endstop. Made a quick endstop relocation mod to trigger the endstop before the carriage hit the motor.
Additional hardware requirements:
x2 - M3 x 8mm Socket Head Cap Screw (other heads will prob work, but I used this)
x2 - M3 T-nut
Instructions:
- Print the model lol
- Unplug the y axis endstop
- Unscrew the endstop from the stock mounting point
- Using the screws you just took out, install the endstop onto the printed part
- Add the M3 bolts/t-nuts to the printed part
- Install the printed part on the opposite side of the y axis extrusion
- Re-route the wire and plug it into the endstop
- Double check the endstop is depressed before making contact with the motor
- Modify firmware if needed (I'm running klipper, and my config had the y axis over traveling. I had my endstop position set to -17mm, but his mod set my endstop position to 0)
- Enjoy your bigger motor and more torque :)
