This is my take on designing battery holders that have more than one use. As of posting this there are designs for AA, AAA, 9 Volt and 18650 batteries. I may do more when need arises.

Design is a storage solution is simple enough, 80x80x20mm (+2mm lip) footprint stackable units with batteries laying flat on the trays. There are some design aspects to make removal of batteries as easy as possible.

Main twist compared to others on my design is added points to plug in 4mm test lead plug, commonly called banana jacks/connectors. As long as you have leads with banana plug end you can chain & connect batteries any way you like for testing or project purposes.

I have tried to make the holes to be just correct size to make nice solid contact with terminals. You performance may wary depending on the type of plug end you use.

I hope someone finds these useful.
