A Bart Dring 6X CNC controller case design I made for my own use. For ease of swapping out the controller, I built the wiring around a 26pin “aviation” connector to be able to just take out one controller box and insert another without having to deal with all the extra wiring.
The base is screwed onto the machine (my electronics are all screwed to a 20mm plywood base), and the lid with the connector is held in place by magnets on both the lid and the base.
The base uses 5x10 rectangular magnets that are superglued into the insets. The lid uses 10x10mm square magnets. I inserted steel set screws in the holes under them to keep them in place while the superglue dried as well.
There's ample room for one of the additional modules to be used, though I directly harness mine to a connector for the CYD pendant.
I printed both out of PLA, as there is no significant power or heat generated by the board, it's mostly to keep out dust and prevent short circuits.
