I wanted the ability to use OctoPrint with my CORE One. I have not seen many mounts for the Raspberry Pi cameras yet so I made my own based on another design on here that I really like. I am most familiar with these specific cameras , so I wanted to use one again on this new printer. I can also easily integrate it into OctoPrint and see all of my printers in one place.
The original model that I borrowed from allows for very easy movement to get the camera angled how you want it without being sloppy and moving all over the place. It is also very small and does what it needs to do very well. I wanted the ability to move and rotate the camera rather than it being fixed in place and only showing one camera angle which is why I went this route.
This mounting system allows you to make adjustments as needed to get an angle that you like.
I did use supports with my model but if you adjust the orientation a bit, you may not have to.
My model and the few additional parts needed below printed in about 2 hours. They are all really small and will easily fit on a single build plate.
I used ASA for all of these parts due to them being inside of the heated chamber of the CORE One.
I also increased the infill to 70% like I always do for prints that involve bolts for additional support. This is entirely optional though and probably not necessary.
My model is just the corner bracket. You will have to visit:
https://www.printables.com/model/20431-prusa-mk3s-raspberry-pi-camera-mount-by-clip-faste/files
and download one of each of the following models:
- raspberry_camera_case_front
- raspberry_camera_case_back
- raspberry_camera_case_connector
- raspberry_camera_mount_connector
You will also need a few pieces of hardware to complete this build:
- 3 - 6x3mm Magnets (I used a bit of super glue for these)
- 1 - M3x20 Bolt
- 1 - M3x25 Bolt
- 2 - M3 Nuts
