I've had a problem with the 3d printed "universal" hooks that people have made.  Their design following the structure of IKEA's metal hooks is bad for 3d Printing.  They hang objects using tension and require minor flexure when placing and removing accessories on the boards.

Whenever I've wanted to design a custom holder, this lack of a sturdy universal hook has derailed my quick organizing impulse. So I've instead designed my own Skadis hook around the strengths of 3D Printing.

  • It fits rigidly in place so it doesn't wear out over time
  • and all of the forces on it are compression forces
  • strong in most orientations

Your Skadis board or whatever holder you design are likely to break before this hook does.

I use this model by kit-bashing assemblies together in the slicer.  But if people would like to use it as a substitute for the common connectors out there, let me know.

I'm including the model I use to Kit-bash the hook onto other organizers.  Just clone it and move it 40mm to attach multiple hooks.

I designed the clearances for this hook based on my black Skadis board.  It turns out that this fits a little looser into the unpainted boards, but so far to no major loss of quality.

If anyone would like to Remix this model into their files, please link your remix back to this page, but please don't include this mesh in your posts directly.

I'll add my other models that use this hook here as a make them...
