As I was installing IKEA furniture, I accidentally over-torqued and broke one of the cam nuts that locked the construction in place. With the magic of some quick CAD and 3D printing, I was able to recreate the nut and complete the assembly of my furniture in no time. The replacement works flawlessly, although I was a little careful not to over-torque the nut once again. I printed the nut in ASA and would recommend PETG as a minimum, but ideally ABS/ASA, PC or Nylon for the extra strength if possible. The print should be done with as small a nozzle as possible (I used 0.4 mm) and a maximum of 0.2 mm layer height. Print the nut in 100% plastic with >6 walls and 0% infill for optimal strength. The model prints without support.
Be careful not to destroy the slotted hole for fastening it!
Update: I've added a Phillips (star) bit version which could be more durable when screwing in. I've not tested this version myself, so let me know if it works or need edits.
