Cassette tapes are surprisingly annoying to work with on flat surfaces and I've cracked my fair share of old brittle shells since you can't evenly distribute the downward force when screwing them together. I designed these 3 work jigs to solve this issue and each jig is intended to be used in different situations. I knew these jigs would be useful for certain situations but I use them now any time I do any work on cassettes!

CassetteWorkJig.stl is convenient for general work on cassettes and evenly distributes the downward forces exerted on a cassette during assembly.

CassetteWorkJigRaised.stl is great for assembly, winding, and punching holes when you add extra idlers for tape loops. I've included marks every 5mm along the top and sides that can be used for quick measurements if you're working on a cassette with a clear shell. There's enough clearance so you can comfortably melt a pushpin through the cassette without worrying about damaging your work surface.

CassetteWorkJigInverted.stl has more limited uses than the other 2 jigs but it's ideal for holding cassettes while you're trying to scrub off labels or do any sort of artwork on the exterior of a cassette shell half.
