I struggle to print ASA and other high temp materials on my K1C.  With ASA, once the print reaches a Z height of about 30 - 50 mm, things go catastrophic and the part warps and delaminates.  I suspect the issue is temperature related and possibly related to the chamber temperature.  The printer as delivered will only reach about 32C in the chamber using passive heating.  I would like to see that in the 50-60C range for ASA.  I am considering a heater, but first decided to try insulating the chamber to see if that gets me there.

This model provides a frame to be assembled to the left and right panels of the printer.  There are a couple of existing models for this type of frame including from surfalex2000 here:

What my design does differently is it allows for the simultaneous use of 270 degree hinges.  I didn't want to redesign the hinges I was already using.

The frame pieces are cut into 4 pieces suitable for printing on a K1C printer.  For the left side (side with hinges), print 1 each of the four frame pieces.  For the right side, print 2 each of frame pieces 3 and 4.  For the right side you will also need 3 of the spacers to mount the side fan.

For the insulation I found some 10mm insulating panels on Amazon.  These are the type used in car projects to provide thermal insulation and sound deadening.  The insulation has an adhesive side that will stick to the original plexiglass side panel.  I then covered the inside with the blue heat reflective tape.

Take care to use the correct size screws as some of them can contact the belts.

If you are also using enhanced hinges, you may find that the original plexiglass interferes with the hinge assembly.  I have included a template to assist with cutting the plexiglass if you  need to do so.  I was ultimately able to make everything work without doing this.

In the end, just adding the insulation to the left and right sides increased the chamber temperature from 32C to 40C.  I think if I apply insulation to the lid and door I can get the temperature stability I need.  I don't expect those to require any additional printed parts.
