This is a stereoscopic optics for raspberry pi camera. This allows to map two images (left, right) to one camera image.
It is possible to put it on a VR-headset to have stereoscopic vision. I tried it with a google-cardboard-like Phone-VR setup (samsung gear) and it worked. The camera image was streamed from the pi and displayed in an android ip-camera app.
This could be used for example to put stereo vision onto an RC-car or similar.
You need some mirrors that you can cut to the right size. I used acrylic mirror sheets.
For the streaming i used the following command on the raspberry pi. It may not work anymore since there were changes to the camera utilities on raspbian.raspivid -n -ih -t 0 -rot 180 -w 1280 -h 720 -fps 60 -b 4000000 -o - | nc -nlkv4 5001
The model was designed with FreeCAD 2024.1006 (realthunder fork).
For the simulation you'll need the optics workbench of chbergmann. Since the design is symmetrical the optical simulation was only done for one side as seen in the pictures.
