TwinDos Funnel for Miele Washing Machines

I added a modified version: Actuator2 and funnel2. This design works better.

We use a Miele washing machine and dryer, and really appreciate the convenience of the TwinDos automatic detergent dispensing system. However, I noticed that when the machine reports a detergent container as empty, there’s still a small amount of liquid left inside—not much, but just enough to be annoying.

To solve this, I designed a small funnel that lets you transfer the leftover detergent from an “empty” container into another partially used one. This way, you can avoid waste and make the most of each cartridge.

How to Use

First, use some detergent from the destination container before topping it off.

Only combine the same type of detergent (e.g. UltraPhase 1 with UltraPhase 1).

Don’t forget to update the fill levels in your Miele settings after refilling. (Refer to the manual for instructions.)

Transferring the liquid is easy but slow—take your time.

⚠ Important Warning:

Do not use this funnel to refill Miele UniPhase containers with your own detergent. These cartridges contain an optical identification label that signals the machine what type of detergent is inside.

If you want to use your own detergent, Miele sells special refillable containers for that purpose. They’re affordable and safe to use and they are recognised by the machine as “refillable” with their own dispensing parameters. Also they are easier to fill and refill.

The funnel comes in two parts for easier 3D printing and assembly.

Use the provided .3mf file to view the correct print orientation and settings.

Printed in PLA with 0.2 mm layer height and build plate supports.
