After years of occasional disassembly and cleaning the original waste adapter in my sink finally broke. Before the shops opened, I had this replacement printed and fitted.
This is the bottom part of a waste basin assembly, where the top is a stainless steel strainer, and there is a long, 6-mm centrepin that connects both top and bottom through the sink hole. There is a steel M6 nut to accommodate the screw, fitted inside the plastic body. The nut tore out of the original plastic part, so I reused it but you can just grab a new one. There is a hex aperture in the bottom of the piece, into which the nut slots. Slide it as deep as it goes, or let the screw pull it in. Finally, a plastic Flex hose fits to the 5/4" on the bottom. Don't forget the gaskets at both ends – I almost always reuse the ones that were already there.
Printing is simple. I add perimeters for strength and water-tightness, but otherwise it's an easy bottom-up print in PETG, with 0.2-mm layers and a 0.4-mm nozzle.
Update: I have uploaded newer files. The only difference from the previous model is that the upstream edge is rounded.
