Winter is coming and the small birbs outside should enjoy some easy food from a suitable vending machine. It's a nice de-stresser for us humans too, simply looking out at the feathery little tweeters enjoying a nice snack.
So here it is! It uses an empty Prusament spool as a base. It'll work without it, but the spool serves as a nice place for the birds to sit.
I've included versions of the feeder fitted for either peanuts or sunflower seeds.
Print instructions:
- Recommend printing in PETG but PLA probably works as well.
- Recommend slicing using the provided 3mf files.
- Print 1 x lid.
- Print 1 x plug.
- Print 1 x nut and bolt.
- Print either 1 x peanut feeder or 1 x sunflower seeder.
Assembly instructions:
- Place the feeder on an empty Prusament spool. Secure it in place with the plug.
- Fit some thin rope through the top of the lid and make a knot to secure it in place.
- Fill the feeder with either peanuts or sunflower seeds depending on which one you printed.
- Slide the lid into the feeder and secure it with the printed bolt and nut.
- Hang it outside in a suitable location.
Other notes:
This feeder was inspired by several other bird feeders here on Printables. I must stress that my feeder is a 100% original creation. I did not use any parts from other bird feeders - it is not a remix.
I would, however, like to give credit for inspiration to the following models:
