I designed these magnetic cable holders to clean up the wiring under my standing desk, which has a metal frame. The set includes three different sizes, each meant for a specific cable diameter or cable bundle. All models are printed in one piece and only need magnets added after printing. Depending on the fit of your printer, you may need a drop of glue to secure the magnets.
Models Included
Small clip
Cable size: up to 5.70 mm
Magnets: 1× 6 mm × 3 mm
Good for: USB cables, thin power leads, peripheral cables
Medium clip
Cable size: up to 10 mm
Magnets: 2× 12 mm × 4.75 mm (or 2x 12mm × 4 mm)
Good for: monitor cables, thicker power leads
Large clip
Cable channel size: up to 28 mm
Magnets: 2× 12 mm × 4.75 mm (or 2x 12mm × 4 mm)
Good for: cable bundles or multi-cable channels
How They Work
The clips use embedded magnets so you can stick them anywhere on a steel desk frame. The opening lets you push the cable in from the front without threading it through. The larger models use two magnets to keep them from rotating or sliding under load.
Printing Notes
Printer: Bambu Lab A1 Mini
Material: PETG
Layer height: 0.16 mm
Supports:
Small + medium clips: printed upright with tree (auto) slim supports
Large clip: printed on its side with minimal tree (auto) slim supports
Assembly Tips
Magnets press-fit into the slots, but depending on print tolerances, a tiny bit of superglue helps keep them secure.
Make sure to check magnet polarity before gluing. (if needed)
PLA, PETG, or ABS all work fine, use what you prefer.
Hope these help keep your desk wiring a little less chaotic!
