Our boy wanted a minecraft like lantern for this years St. Martins lantern procession, so I designed and printed one.
I salvaged an old solar light string, that died due to a defective battery, for the lights. It's powered by a single AA battery now.
Due to lack of time, the design is a bit primitive but works. Unfortunately it's a pain to replace the battery rigth now. I'll try to enhance this later if I find the time.
The main body of the lantern is printed in PLA with standard settings and 10% Gyroid infill.
The four glasses are printed in red, transparent PETG with the following settings:
Layer height: 0.08mm
Speed: 30mm/s,
Temp: 250-260°C
Wall loops: 2
No top shell layers
No bottom shell layers
100% rectilinear infill
Infill direction 0
Body, top and hanlde have to be glued together, don't forget to put on the lid before gluing the handle ;)
I added the blender source file for the design for you to modify or enhance.
